Recommended Use:

Using a few small drops, massage into skin on face, neck and any problem areas on the body. Argan oil works best on clean, lightly damp skin. Argan oil can promote a healthy balance and fight the effects of aging.

Argan oil is also great for keeping hair healthy and for protection against damaging effects of sun, dry air and chlorine. Argan oil may be used before or after shampooing. Work into hair from the scalp out to the ends. If you are planning on shampooing your hair afterwards, it is advised to wait at least one hour, and preferably overnight in order to reap the most benefits from the argan oil. If you are using argan oil after shampooing your hair. Use a towel to dry your hair until it is damp but not completely dry and then work into hair.

You can also use argan oil for nails. Combine argan oil with lemon juice and soak your fingernails for 10-15 minutes. You can also massage argan oil into dry cuticles. This routine will keep your nails healthy looking.

Further information about Argan:

The Argan tree is unique and native to Morocco. Traditionally, Moroccans have used Argan oil for cosmetic as well as culinary purposes. For use as a cosmetic oil, the raw kernel is cold pressed to preserve its beneficial qualities. Argan trees are protected in Morocco and women’s cooperative groups carefully process and extract the kernel. This is the primary source of livelihood for many women and their families living in these regions.

The Argan tree is adapted to dry desert conditions and its oil is similarly protective when applied to skin and hair. It seals in moisture and protects against sun damage and hot, dry air. Perfect for sunny summer days as well as dry harsh winter conditions, this is an oil that can be used year round.

It is also known to benefit a wide range of skin types. Individual skin types and benefits include--

Dry: Argan oil is primarily made of unsaturated fatty acids (predominantly omega-9 and omega-6) which nourishes and softens the skin.

Oily: This skin type is overproducing sebum to moisturize the skin. Argan oil adds moisture and reduces the production of sebum. Argan oil absorbs well into the skin and should not leave an oily feeling.

Combination: This skin type has both problems of dry and oily skin. Since Argan oil is able to treat both conditions it restores balance in combination skin types.

Acne prone: Argan oil helps regulate the production of sebum, which causes acne, and therefore reduces future breakouts. It is non-comedogenic and light, quickly absorbing into the skin. Argan oil contains a fair amount of Vitamin E which contains antioxidants that can help remove damaged cells and help with cell regeneration.

Mature/wrinkled: Once again, Argan oil’s antioxidant properties come in to play, encouraging cell regeneration and preventing further environmental damage from UV radiation and air pollution.

Damaged: Argan oil packs a fair amount of antioxidants in the form of vitamin E, polyphenols, squalene, and carotenes. These protect the skin against free radical damage and help reduce scars.

Sensitive: No mysterious chemicals here. Argan oil is 100% natural. The soothing and softening properties as well as vitamin E can help address common issues with sensitive skin such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and rosacea. As with any new product, we recommend that you try Argan oil on a small area of skin to test for any allergic reaction. Those who have known nut allergies should take extra precaution when using Argan oil, or avoid using it altogether.

About our oil:

Our Argan oil is produced ethically in Morocco. Our manufacturer purchases the argan kernels from Moroccan women’s cooperatives. They then freshly extract the oil through a cold-press method to our order. Their facility has USDA organic certification. We use amber glass jars to protect the nutrients present in the oil. When stored in a cool place away from direct light, our oil has a 2 year shelf life.
